Play Therapy

Play is a child's natural way of expressing their feelings and thoughts. Children are able to express through play what they cannot express through words. Play therapy utilizes toys, art materials, clay, and music.

Play therapy is especially effective for children that have experienced a traumatic event in their lives (i.e., accident, divorce, a sudden move, serious illness, death or serious illness of a family member, sexual abuse, natural or man-made disaster). Play therapy creates the kind of safe environment that allows children to reprocess traumatic events.
